File Management Web Application

Montgomery Barnett needed to devise a more systematic method for tracking the storage, retrieval, and destruction of closed files. After reviewing and revising the retention policy and procedures, software was developed that enabled office personnel to track and destroy files regularly, eliminating compounding costs at off-site storage facilities. A convenient web-based application was built to interact with the reformed file management database. The interface was an improved version of the original outdated application built in Visual Basic and provided an assortment of automated processes, validation, and error detection. The application also featured a highly customizable search facility.
